Winter in Breckenridge

Winter is bustling in Breckenridge. From skiing to the ice sculpture competition, there's no shortage of winter activities! Typically, we measure our winter by the ski resort, which mid-November and closes mid-April, though the early and late season weather may not allow for all winter activities.

Ski + Snowboard

It's no secret that Breckenridge has some of the best skiing and riding in America. A wide variety of terrain, great access, and no shortage of sunny days makes that possible. There are plenty of places to rent your gear, but we recommend Christy Sports — it's convenient, the staff are friendly, and the prices are reasonable (plus they offer a discount for advance reservations).

SnowShoe + Xc Ski

Another great way to experience Breckenridge is on snowshoes or cross-country (also called skate) skis. Both of these are super accessible ways to explore the area — no lessons necessary, very little equipment, and great for the whole family. We recommend the Nordic Center for a great place to start if you're interested!
